Default Pictures from Sweden

Look here folks!
Here are som pictures I hope might inspire you!

The Dark Blue one with a Hirth engine is owned by our swedish gyro-chapters chairman, the light blue one is a Bensen modified to Humlan without Cockpit. The white one to show in flight. The yellow one is a grounded Bensen due to registration matters and Seat Tank. As it is not approved in the Swedish gyros. Bensen gyros in original configuration are not allowed. Mind you the lighter Yellow one is built in Norway, se recommended link http://www.gyrokopter.no/flyiklubben.html I also want to ad our Swedish homepage http://www.rotorflygklubben.se/joomla/index.php Other gyros are the Xenon, the Barnett, the Mt03, as the market is changing. But Humlan was and is the peoples machine in Sweden as the Bensen and KB were in the US and many other countries

Plans for the Humlan are available at low cost at our homepage, but for those of you that dont know Swedish you can reach Karl Axel Axelsson who sells them at axelsson.karlaxel@gmail.com or phone +4612012554.

Note for the Humlan the Rotorhead was constucted for grater strenght after thourogh analasys of the later bensen ofset gimbal type and to protect the pilot incase of rotorstrike the mast is constructed with mast distorsion offloading device inside the mast. The Tail is flown many years without any PIO tendensys and still allows for good manuvarability, the body comprises about 95% momentum of the stabilizer momentum. The plans come for mast tank, working good with fire protective device between tank and engine. Allthough peronally I dont like this solution and the tank is many times put inside the cockpit. Original motor is the macculloch. But people have used VW, Rotax and Hirth engines. The gyro can be flown with or without cabin. In many ways the Humlan is just a modified Bensen/KB. Premade Parts can also be ordered if you are a member of the swedsih gyro-chapter. For instance the cabin, complete rotor/rotorhead throttle etc.

Im also interested to know what you know about the seat tank situation in other European contries, Are they approved? I want to change the situation in Sweden.

SXT has a most interesting fuel tank arrangement.

Unfortunately rather similar to an outdoor safari shower and all it's connotations.

Nice to see what others have thank you for posting.

Great pictures. I always like to see regional variants to the stock Bensen design.

Quite a few Leigh I think. The flight testing is done and just waiting on the job creationists at the CAA to declare the gyro with the best safety record in the world ...safe!

Yours for about £60,000.00 plus VAT ! You having one?

Unfortunately still remains just a dream machine.

Apology to Karl for my drift from his interesting pictures.

Sorry Karl that I interrupt you but I have some old photos of HUMLA autogiro to share too.
Designer of Humla is Helge Svensson from Stockholm, Sweden, (now over 93 years of age) pic 1 third from left.
One of the very first Humla built was SE-HXG by an old friend Tommy Nilsson from Uppsala. He sold it later to Per Anders, ( pic 2)
Some more pics of Humlor.

Default Super!

It really feels good when your thread starts to live by its own force!

It inspires me to upgrade my profile, so I added my daughter practically born on the bensen glider thanks to Hornlanda Tailspin's members. Keeping it safe but exciting!
Thank you all for your responses! Dont stop!

Sweden is a very streched country north southwice, not as vast as the states but still either very vintery or polar. Im sited in Östersund in the middle of sweden. So I guess i would have the average scienery. Major airport for private use is Optand ESNM, but my activity there has yet to begin, I'll keep you posted. Majoity of gyros in Sweden are in the south parts. I guess thats why I get so much satisfacion from the forum as Im rather alone in my parts of Sweden as a gyronut, but still having good contact with my countrymen.

Hi Karl, how is Rose and the baby?

It is nice to see you on the forum, Dave is on here too. Here is some pictures of you and Rose that you took when you visited us at El Mirage.

These pics are of the military graveyard Dave and I took you two. We had a lot of fun that day going Thur those old wrecks.

The most delightfull graveyard I've ever been to Tina, thanks to you two (Tina and Dave), Remember the drunk waitress tripping around behind the bardisk that told me I was underage and wouldnt serve us? Even that was fun after such a great day.

So now when you are all coming to Sweden/Norway, let us know so we can combine our interest of Gyros with other advenures. In the south of Norway there is an abandound NATO-base founded by the Germans during second world war(Ironic haa?), Plenty of room for flying and a flyin hotell. Cruize the white sandy beaches into the fjords and take alock at the old german bunkers whilst eating Norwegian Kumpe. Only bad news is the cold water. Look for "Lista" and Farsund. My wife comes from there. Unfortunately I dont know if the runways are open nowadays
