I'd settle for making hot babes appear out of thin air.

Great show of illusions, I still think Chris Angel is the best I've seen.

I do love to watch is work....IMHO CA is a little full of himself.

He is like me in that he mostly relies on other people to invent his magic.

I preferr more technical talent and people who design their own tricks.

Penn and Teller and the Amazing Randy are my fav's.

Of course I am biased because I don't like TV magic. I like stage and close up.

opps. I have to eat my words.

At lunch today I did some googling on CA and found he is more original then I gave him credit for. Especally, for having the guts to call out Uri Geller and Jim Callahan.

I've learn how most of those tricks work. When I was a kid I did magic and Tim is right all of those tricks were designed by someone else long ago.

You have to have the young lady already, she doesn't appear out of thin air! Or I'd be doing that trick for myself and friends every night!!!

I practice prestidigitation at work.

When I teach computer security concepts I use close up prestidigation to demonstrate phishing, buffer-overruns, man-in-the-middle and other concepts.

I would like to do some mentalism routines but I have not found a way to work them into the curriculum yet..

There are seven basic moves in classical illusions, everything else is a variation on these. Penn and Teller do a great bit where they demonstrate this for the audience.

I have been very successful in making beutiful women dissapear. Most of the time its right after I say hi.
The ones that didnt vanish made my money dissapear.

Its the ecology of magic

Hmmm, same here. Seems like I'm not alone, ay.

'Course I'm going back a few years now. Don't even say "Hi" anymore.

Default Penn & Teller

I have a little Penn & Teller story of my own. Last August I was in Las Vegas and decided to go see the Penn & Teller show at the Rio. I'm a big Penn & Teller fan.

As people were entering the theater, the ushers were advising that Penn & Teller had left a large envelope on the stage and requested that everyone sign it. Well, my friend and I were feeling lazy, so we didn't go up and sign it.

During the show Penn handed out several joke books to the audience and asked that they be passed around. Then, at a certain point in the show, he asked who in the audience was holding a certain one of the joke books. Well, I was the one who had it. He asked me to join him on stage.

They had me sit in a chair on the stage and randomly pick out a joke from the book. Then I was to read it, but not say the punchline. So I read the joke, but stopped at the punchline. At that point the entire audience said the punchline out loud. I looked behind me. The envelope that eveyone, except my friend and I, had signed had been opened, and a large banner removed that contained the punchline to the joke.

Of course, at this point, Penn asked me if I took the opportunity to sign the envelope before the show and I had to say "No." So he just said I should ask someone who did sign it to verify it was the same envelope.

Actually, it was a fun experience, but I wish I had signed the darn thing. Penn did give the envelope and banner to me as a keepsake.
