Default BFR at Mentone

I had made arrangements for my BFR with an instructor that was going to be at Mentone. He is now not able to be there. I fly an RAF and weigh 250 lbs. Anyone able to help me ? I'll be at Mentone Thursday afternoon and all day Fri. and Sat. Thanks Tom T. Hall in MN

Tom, I'll be there friday. But I will not have a gyro. I assume you will not have yours ready either. If you want to wait till yours is done I can fly with you then.

Just a question here. Are you "rated" in a gyro? Your profile does not indicate it. If not, a Flight Review can not be done in the gyro, reference 61.56 (c)(1).

Which instructor is not going Tom?

Chris, question.... I am a fixed wing private pilot and hold a sport pilot gyroplane two place rating. I will be up for my next BFR soon, can I take my BFR with Chuck Roberg or you perhaps, or will I need to do a BFR with a fixed wing CFI and will I also need a gyro BFI separately?

Default Flight Review

Ron, you can take your Flight Review with Chuck since you say your are "rated" in gyroplanes. You do not need to also take a fixed wing Flight Review. One Flight Review will cover all aircraft you are "rated" in. Of course if you are rusty, it doesn't hurt to take extra lessons in the fixed wing.

Chris gave you the right skinny as to your BFR and in addition...the CFI must also be rated in the particular aircraft you are using for your BFR.

Cheers

Ron, I plan on being there only on Friday. If that works for you, then I can do it. I will not have my gyro there so you will have to provide a 2-place gyro.
