Default Thanks to all - Mentone 2004

Star Bee Gyros thoroughly enjoyed the PRA Convention week in Mentone, Indiana. We experienced firsthand the noted mid western hospitality and once again the Star Bee is back in her place. She has rekindled the bug for BUZZING thanks to Joe Swanton who got her over the hump and showed that lessons can have unexpected fun. Buzzing a group of feeding geese, spotting grazing deer, swooping down to count the points on the lone buck and crossing paths with a hawk can’t be anything but exhilarating.

It was such an honor to meet and talk with Ralph Taggart; hearing stories, history and of his plan to document the building of the latest Gyrobee with Don Chubb. We will be sure to add a link to his site from StarBeeGyros.com so we can all share the buzz.

Rick Marshall was helpful in guiding us though planning our first and certainly not our last trip to Mentone. Rick Gilley looks great in a yellow StarBee T-shirt – Thank you for your insight and tips. We are consistently surprised at how almost every encounter at Fly Ins leads one to new insight and enthusiasm for gyros.

Knowing that great breakfasts, lunches and dinners are available on site, next year we will leave all but the traveling cooler at home. Whoever was in charge of ordering weather for the week couldn’t have planned it better. The Wednesday evening thunderstorm was spectacular, paving the way for beautiful weather the rest of the week.

Our tent was buzzing with inquiring prospective gyro builders. We hope we were helpful to all who have had the yearning to experience ultra light rotorcraft.

We look forward to Mentone next year and hope to see you at Rotors Over Carolina in October!

Clear Skies,
Laura and Dana Linn

I also hope Laura & Dana stick around and post more on this forum. I recently bought a airframe kit from them, it went together without a hitch.I have some pictures, but for some reason, I can't get them to post here,I will keep trying. John
