I have tomatoes,potatos,beets,two kinds of beans,peas,corn,carrots,cucumbers,apples cherries,pecans,walnuts and some wormy chestnuts and a little stash growing now. We can eat and be merry at the same time. But the weather man said that it may frost here tonight and if it doe's I will be wiped out!

Don't want to burst your bubble man, but some of them Mormons have weapons and tactics of their own. And they band together in groups called Wards. It might be a better idea to pick a smaller and more isolated target or even better yet, just get better prepared yourself.

I have found that being prepared for many of the emergencies that could happen to me, helps me to sleep a lot more peacefully at night. It's like having a little money tucked away for emergencies, just a good idea.

There certainly seems to be a growing worldwide awareness that the summer might well be passing to winter. A time for battening down hatches shortening sail and looking to those emergency rations. On the brighter side looking forward to even the occasional flights that do so afford us all such great pleasure.

Growing my own crop (bio fuel) Just need a decent diesel to use it, otherwise it just fuels the heating system. The ethanol version takes too long, gets drunk and me too, not to mention the customs and revenue guys wanting to get in on the act!

How timely your post. I thought one or two would likely shrug you off but interestingly as I walked about 'O penedo casa' in the early hours of the morning not being able to sleep, i turned on the TV and what was on GMA.
Well blow me down with a feather! Barbara Walters in the drivers seat and a story peice on the new suburban market garden. People turning their front lawns into vegetable gardens AND WHY BLOODY NOT.!

With the price of oil and big business owning all the other resources a vege garden, home storage supplies, tank water, these are some of the things we can do to as Doug says, sleep a little easier and stay a lot healthier. I'd rather eat a fresh apple off of my tree than one thats 8 months old anyday!
