By Popular Request, I will be creating a rotorcraft links page.
Please post links that your are aware of in this thread along with a short description of the page. Even if you don't see the obvious ones listed here, go ahead and post them. Please don't take this off topic, any post that doesn't contain a link and description will be deleted or moved from this thread. Thanks

Here's a sample:
Experimental Aircraft Association http://www.eaa.org/ Organization based in Oshkosh, WI that promotes the building and flying of experimental aircraft. There are nearly 1,000 local chapters of the EAA all over the world.

Todd is there a way to drag all these links into the forum or send them by email?

We'll compile the links here....then I'll take these links and create a web page of links that will be accessible via the home page.

Excellent ! Thanks.
Maybe it would be a good idea to start with all the websites in the Rotorcraft magazine which are current.

Suggest we divide manufacturers into gyros, helicopters, and "weird VTOL stuff"
Gyros -------- (my gyro links are on my other puter... patience, grasshopper...) Helicopters --------------- add the links for certified ones esp. Robinson, Brantly, Enstrom, Hiller (official and the FL rehab guys) and Schweitzer first... (i.e., piston and training helos that are reasonable financial alternatives to kit ownership). I can provide these if you can't. Then the kit helos in order of popularity. To be on my list it's gotta have flown, and I have to have seen air under its skids with my own eyes; there are two exceptions, one's first flight is pending and the other, I've been assured by several, is for real: http://rotorway.com/ Rotorway International makes the popular Exec 162F series kit helicopter. Over 700 Execs have been sold and almost all of them have flown. Rotorway makes its own engines. http://www.acehelicopter.com/ Canadian Home Rotors makes the capable Safari, formerly Baby Belle. It looks like a small Bell47 and is powered by a Lycoming engine. http://helicycle.com/ BJ Schramme's Helicycle is a single-seat machine that continues despite the death of the designer in a yet-unexplained accident. Originally designed for a Rotax, they are mostly turbine powered (Solar T62 in a special Helicycle conversion). http://www.vertical-aviation.com/ Vertical Aviation Technologies of Sanford, FL, makes the 4-seat Hummingbird, the most capable (and most expensive at $170k) kit helicopter. It is a kit version of the Sikorsky S-52, powered by a Lycoming. http://www.ch-7helicopter.com/ The Cicare CH-7 kit is made in Italy. At one time, Lancair was going to import the larger 1+1 Kompress version. Lancair didn't, and the machine remains rare in North America. http://www.ultrasport.rotor.com I've never seen an Ultrasport helicopter, but I am assured they are for real. http://www.innovatortech.ca/ The Mosquito is an ultralight open-frame helicopter. A fibreglass experimental version is also available. http://stittind.com/ The Mini-500 was a restyled, unlicensed knock-off of the CH-7. Modifications to the original design made the machine rack up a terrible safety record and the company failed, but not until an estimated 500 kits shipped -- about 200 have flown, and about 30 have crashed, some more than once. Rick Stitt (former RHCI engineer) has established Revolution Helicopter Company, LLC in Missouri to (1) support Mini customers ripped off in the RHCI debacle (2) Solve the Mini's severe safety problems (3) market a Solar turbine conversion (which has the potential to help safety) and (4) in the longer term, develop a new kit helicopter. http://www.vortechonline.com/hrh/main.htm Vortech sells the plans for Bob Kinney's HRH (Hot Rod Helicopter). Sube powered single seater. Vortech also has plans for a lot of bogus-looking machinery that I don't believe ever did or could fly. And they sell plans for Bensens to existing Bensen owners, but will not sell them for new construction. http://lafhelicopters.com/ LaFlamme Helicopters of Quebec is developing a tandem-rotor, LS6-powered helicopter. The prototype has semi-rigid teetering rotors. An earlier prototype has flown tethered. This machine should fly next month... the kit will not be available until flight test is complete. http://www.eagleaviationtech.com/ Eagle Aviation Technologies Inc. makes the Eagle's Perch experimental and Air Scooter ultralight version. These craft have fixed pitch rotors, meaning they can't autorotate, but will rotor-stall on power failure. EATI seems to be concentrating on UAV applications for this technology. Weird VTOL Stuff ============= Links on other puter also... ANOTHER SUGGESTION ================== Instructors. We should have a link to every instructor we know about on the links page. Also a separate instructors page. Hope this is useful to you Todd. cheers -=K=-

http://www.acecraftusa.com/photos.html
and: http://www.engineeringsystem.co.jp/genh4_en/ These sites are for a japanese design called the GEN H-4. Haven't heard much "buzz" about it these past couple of years. The second link appears to be their new official site.
