Default OT Where I've been

Hi all, I just got back to my apartment at 10:30 pm last night! I had a bit of an adventure.....

I was asked to fly a Grumman AA-5 out to Syracuse, NY for a friend. It is his daughters plane and she has wanted it back out there but wasn't able to take it out herself due to weather and time commitments.

So anyway I departed on Friday and got as far as Findlay OH, when I was stopped in my tracks by a snowstorm. Long story short I was stuck in OH for 2 days.

Sunday morning I woke up and the weather didn't look to bad so I headed out. I made it Sunday afternoon. I spent the night and then woke up on Monday morning and headed out to Hartford in an Excursion I was asked to drive back.

It took 12hrs of driving. So to all those that are waiting for BEE information or wondering where I've been that is the story.

Shoot Kandace, I wish I had known....I live only fifteen miles from Findlay! Could have/would have shown you around, could have stayed in my church (with no hankly panky), shown you my gyro drawings, put you to work on them, etc....sigh.

Not sure what an AA5 is but I had an AA 1b that I flew from Nevada to Pennsylvania to sell. Buy the time I got there I had so much fun that I really didn't care if it sold or not. I was looking forward to flying it back. But it sold and I didn't fly again till years later when I started UL flying in a trike.

Right now there is an old J3 on ebay that needs recovering and the engine checked out. Wish i had some cash laying around.

Kandice:

That sounds like a great adventure....one you'll remember for a long, long time.

I believe it's a Grumman Traveler, 4 place, 150 hp engine. Later replaced by the Cheetah model.

I had a Traveler for about 3 years. It has a wet wing. I had the model year with the bad sealant. Kept on leaking fuel. Not a lot. Just enough to be an irritation. Had the leak(s) fixed several times. Would last anywhere from 4-8 months and start leaking again.

If it wasn't for the leaks I would have kept it.
