But, as you say, you do not know the man Bobby is talking about. You make a point about some stranger that is arrogant in order to justify Bobby's comment as OK. I kind of doubt, you know Bobby either, but then that's just a guess.

Since you do not know about the dead man being talked about, here are a few facts about him. Howard Pardue may well have blown off Bobby of one day,at some airshow but he had been a few other things as well.

He had served his country as a Marine Aviator with a tour as a Naval Training Command pilot instructor, who later in life as a wealthy individual had helped others putting poorer kids who could not afford it, through college.

After the accident he received tributes from many sectors of the Aviation world as a contributor, and one who had inspired many. With more than 11,000 hours, and a veteran of the Reno Air Races, flying vintage war-birds, and supporting the historic war-bird community. He had also been a member of an historical tribute flying team, the Navy Legacy Flight team, which performs formation flights with front line Navy fighters of today.

Perhaps just a little bit more that just 'an arrogant blowhard', and perhaps, someone who during his life had earned a little respect.

But then again, perhaps it has been thought arrogant of me to make the comment about Bobby's remark, and that is what has caused the ongoing comments, rather that this being about the man who died.
