Just to be clear, I believe Dean's comments on the FAA were meant for me (cbonnerup) rather than you.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions; I too will have at least a rudimentary POH for my gyro when completed. And I agree, that is what the 40 hours are for - not just touch and go's.

Default skill levers

Well, there's the answer folks. EAB aircraft simply need to be equipped with a "skill lever". On first flight, you push the lever to minimum skill required, and as you gain experience and skill, you can increase the setting.
