I'm trying to find a WWII movie I saw years ago and i'm not having any luck. I believe it was probably made in the 70's or maybe early 80's.

It is about a P-51 that is having mechanical difficulties in the desert (Not sure if it was hit by enemy fire or what) and it is being chased by a Panzer tank. kind of a cat and mouse tale... I think it ends with the P-51 narrowly escaping being hit by a tank round and flying away....

Anyone recall this movie?

TIA

Yes, the movie your talking about is called Death Race (also aka "State of Division") made 1973 starring Lloyd Bridges as the German tank commander and Doug McClure as the pilot of a damaged P40 Warhawk that can only make short runs because of a damaged wing and overheating engine. I've always liked this movie, especially the last scenes where the P40 crow hops over the tank while firing it's guns.
