I took my wife for a city flight between class B along I10 in Houston. We are about 1.5 miles from town. Very cool flight!

Very cool Desmon! I bet Crissy enjoyed it. Did you get into class "B" or stay in the corridor?

I was about 1/2 mile inside the Corridor but was cleared into class B with flight following. I never crossed into it.

Very nice pics, Desmon, thanks for posting. I'm considering doing the corridor soon when I install a transponder, what is the availability of forced landing areas from 1500 ft? Any open spaces or is it just a concrete jungle. Also, what is traffic like along the corridor? Thanks.

I saw several nice open fields. Way to much traffic on the roads.

Interestingly, I find more good landing spots over some of the business parks around Cincinnati on the weekends than in the country.

On the weekends the business parks have long access roads with no powerlines, BIG smooth paved parking lots and big flat roofs.

In the country the fields are rough, roads have power-lines and later in the year, tall corn!

Desmond, you've given me a great idea. Maybe all I have to do is promise my wife a ride in one and I can get a bright red MTO Sport.

Happy Birthday to Crissy.

Nice Desmond,

MUCH better commute than the South'worst' freeway (or any other in Houston) at 0700.
Also, looks like plenty of rooftops to set down if need be.

Thanks, nice pix.

Hi Desmond it was great to meet you this weekend you are a class act.

I lived in Houston for about 4 years loved the people there and enjoyed the aerial view of the city.

Great shots and what a flight!!!

John,
I see you didn't mention the weather in August!
I lived there for 40 years and am still amazed that we survived w/o AC until I was 8 y/o. But I was OK with the heat index; spouse is another matter. I kinda' miss ole' Houston town. Pix made me reminisce.

And Desmond...what AOG gets you out of the thermals over brother Osteen's parking lot? I would bet that in the grief of summer that updrafts can be, well...significant.
Chris

Hi Buddy
I didn't mention the weather. It was far different than SD however really enjoyed the thunderstorms and never seen so much runoff as we only get 7" of rain in an average year. In August I'd get out of the car and start to melt then back in AC office completely soaked again on the way back out to the car etc. etc. etc.

But the people were down to earth GOOD folks much as I've found the majority folks in Utah.
