Wayne, that's one of many reasons the wife and I got out of California in 2004. At least here the good ole boys know that the best distilled corn isn’t made for gasoline.

I looked at the 10 day forecast for Mentone and Im disappointed. It's gonna be hot and humid! Only slightly less hot than here in the dirty south..... Was hoping to get some relief from the heat

We made it here today and I have to tell ya the weather here is much nicer than at home.
The humidity is low compared to Florida. Cool this morning when I got up.

Stan,

I guess you all put your request in with the Weather Officer early and it is being honored!

Seriously, the Big Midwest High Pressure zone has moved farther West and this will drop temperatures from Kansas to Ohio, and create higher temps for California, Arizona, Nevada with monsoonal moisture to come up from the Sea of Cortez bringing lightning and rain in the mountains and deserts. A very typical and normal August weather pattern for the Southwestern half of the nation.

Today's 500 Millibar map shows cool upper level winds flowing from the Pacific Northwest, up into lower Canada and upper Montana, then angling down across the Dakota directly towards Northern Indiana and Mentone. When that dominate High Pressure moves over "Four Corners" and just west of the same, Mentone's temps will be nice and the probability of moisture with rain will increase.

Notice the upper level wind speeds over Minnesota to Illinois.

I specifically like this page because one can zoom in and see any location in 48 states very much like Google Earth but with near current radar images superimposed. Right now as I type, there's a line of precipitation West of Springfield IL moving southeast and most likely pass South of Indianapolis. One can easily zoom in onto Mentone Airport.

I can see my house from here!

Wayne
