Pelican Chapter, #20, has gyro sport pilot training scheduled in Louisiana beginning October 6th at the Marksville airport.

Instruction will be provided by Larry Banks CFII from Spencer, TN, who plans to be at Marksville for a week or more. Marksville is located in central LA near Alexandria.

Pelican members have intentions for 50 or more hours of training, and possibly others interested in gyros who are in the general vicinity might want to get acquainted with this type of flying, and possibly begin to accrue training hours toward a license. Cost for the actual training will be $120/hr, and probably orientation flights would be available for much less.

October 6th , Saturday; will be the next Quarterly Flingwing Muster for Chapter #20, which will be at Marksville and tie-in with the beginning of the instruction. Luncheon will be available on the airport, and an evening social and meal will be scheduled for Saturday evening at the Paragon Casino which is within the landing pattern of the airport.

Any questions could be directed to Rudy Graffeo at 225-715.2918, or Bill Wieger at 318-640.5656, or Manuel Mayeux at 318-305.4528.

Rudy, us Cenla boys can't wait!! I hope the weekend weather is like today

Talked to Bob today, he is going unless he gets called to work.

I hope Guy has to work, A tree dropped leaves on my shed with the limbs attached. That is where I was storing his gyro stuff to protect it. Maybe its a little windy than I though.

I spoke with Manuel last night. Things are going well for the flyin. He said they want us to use the back Gate to the airport. That is a good area but we will need the tents. Bill will send out a new letter.
Guy , I got a large crate from Ernie with your name on it.
Terry and Debbie, Russell long wants to know if yall will be bringing your PPC. He has a few more people here that fly a ppc.

Hey bogman,
The back gate is on the south end of the air port. There is a road that is parallel to the airport. It is close to the front gate or North end of the airport. It will take you to the south end.
I hope that helps.

Scott

Hi Mark

Probably won't bring powered parachute, weather doesn't look that good.

Will definitely be there saturday morning .

Wish I had a covered trailor, drying out a chute is a pain.
