This is just info to help others, I had a set of ear protecters come off, I was lucky, did not go through any thing, now I tie them down. Dave Prater told me once about him doing his routine at an airshow and after landing finding his roll of saftey wire and the pliers between two cylinders on his Mac. Scary stuff.

Sad...
Open gyro's do have considerably more potentials than FW in this regard...
