Here is another PropCopter; Curtiss-Bleecker

Ralph Taggart also tried propellers on the blades of his Gyrobee gyrocopter.

To my knowledge this concept has never been capable of generating enough thrust for flight.

Here is a workup that was done on the concept, for anyone who is really, really interested. OTHER: Helicopter - Inside - Single Rotor - Simple Electric Ultralight

I know that a scale model flew but I think that the full sized skyscooter was powered with a single hub mounted engine with a shaft running to the props and it had viberation problems that proved difficult if not impossible to correct with the materials available at the time but I think that it would be possible to make a copter to lift heavy loads on little power as long as you didn't need to move very fast. I once built a 4 foot span model powered by 2 .049 cox engines and it would climb like a rocket.

according to flight global archives it did fly 1954 and a 2 place was being tested then pooft
