Hi Don
I fall in your category Don.

However, many reputable people have seen true flying UFO aircraft often up close. So I'm still looking and hoping to see them any day now?

I saw a UFO at dusk as a boy with my mother in Nairobi. It was making unconventional flying manoeuvrings that could not be easily explained.

My father arrived the next morning from Dar es Salaam capitol of Tanganyika where he and some other pilots from the airline had watched apparently the same craft the previous evening. All of them ex wartime pilots. All puzzled by what they had seen.

I have been convinced.

Ball lightening is a rare but otherwise well known and well described atmospheric phenomenon that can be reproduced in a lab. It looks like the various descriptions in this thread -- including its behavior, motion, shape, size, etc. -- fits exactly sightings of ball lightening.

What I 've noticed from all photos (even from the pic posted by kstorm 32 in post one) is most likekly for this phenomeno to be seen when climate is very dry and with full moon as shown below. Its from 23-24 October, 2010 - Amazing Festivals along the Mekong River Bank Naga Fireball Phenomenon at Nong Khai Province.
