I joined this forum today as i was searching the net for info , iam a outboard motor & boat fan more than flying , i have just recently modified one of my 70hp outboard motors cooling system from impeller to radiator & water pump , now ive got an idea in my head to build a little helicopter with the same motor , by turning the motor upside down & turn the carburetors around & then fit a rotor head & blades on , will this work , cheers

Welcome aboard. You still have to run a shaft back to the tail rotor to counteract the main rotor's torque. Unless of course if you are going with the counter rotating rotor system. Sounds like an interesting idea though. Good luck with it.
