Rotorvox C-2A Reaches Crowdfunding Goal

Reading their text they argue that if it is on its side (not upside down) it will rest in the mast head, the stub wing tip and the canopy and that due to the leverage available to the crew the canopy will open easily.

our engineers designed the Rotorvox C2A to rest on three supporting points when toppled sideways: The massive rotor mast, the outer face of the sturdy wing and the hood. The hood is also designed to absorb shock and features sufficient elasticity to prevent jamming. Because of its large size and corresponding lever, it is comparatively easy to open the hood even when the gyrocopter is on its side. And thanks to the symmetric opening mechanism it does not matter which side the gyrocopter rests on. Our safety engineers’ tests demonstrated that two passengers can exit sideways tipped Rotorvox C2A in less than 30 seconds.

An interesting concept considering that most roll over type accidents seem to finish with the gyro on its side rather than upside down. A video demonstration would perhaps be a useful selling tool.
