Vance, are you saying that Jim flew it at Mentone ? If so, I believe that you would be the first person to say anything about it !

What is up with that ?

Vance; I think he was confused by the following comment.

Quote:
He made a couple of passes down the runway that were very exciting to watch and did some adjusting on the controls.
I spent a lot of time at the flight line year and missed the Tiggy B taxi runs. Just goes to show you. You turn your back for a short time at Mentone and you will miss a lot.

Chris: I saw Farmer Jim do a couple of taxi runs down the runway at Mentone.
It is a large gyroplane for sure!

Vance, these guys got it right. I am sorry if I confused you. I did think you meant that he FLEW a couple of passes at Mentone.

I never thought he flew it TO Mentone.

Now I see it was just taxi passes.

That 2.5 Soob is very interesting to me......that's all there is to it, I swear !

I think there is alot of unnecesary paranoia going on around here. Even the most innocent questions are looked at under a microscope. Is there something going on that I am not aware of.

All you people on this forum are almost the only people I get to talk gyros with. It's getting a little disheartening. I have no (as Tim O said earlier ) dark agendas.

I mean like what would they be ???

Are we being scrutinized by the FAA or what ? There is alot of GOOD STUFF being held back by alot of members......it is sad.

I was always open to any critisizm.....good or bad & I welcome both.

We all need to get back to sharing everything with the forum & if anybody feels the need to get stupid.....we'll just blast em back !

I have been involved in this hobby/sport for a long time & I am right where I want to be...a legal/ current Sport pilot gyro pilot !! I am proud of it & I have paid my dues.

I want nothing more than to see others overcome the trials & tribulations that I had to. I would also like to see others accomplish these goals as easily & inexpensively & safely as possible.......Isn't that the goal of many here ?

When I get back to wrenching on my 2.5 powered SxS....I plan on posting the entire rebuild thread....I would welcome any input from ALL members (and guests if they could post )

So everybody.....LIGHTEN UP !!!!!!!

All that being said.......my boss just got a job that will last a few weeks (bummer...less play time) & my girlfriend just got a job back with the same school district that eliminated 30 positions including hers more than a year ago.(she really needed it). She helps the teachers with the autistic children in the class. So she will be getting busy.

But the weather is supposed to be perfect tommorrow & I have the day off so I am going flying again. I am still trying to burn up the 60 gallons of non-ethanol gas that I got at the beginning of the season. I only like to fly when the weather is perfect....is that stupid ?

The last few times I flew my machine really made me realize that there is nothing else like flying a gyro ! I finally installed 4 Iridium plugs in my 503. She is still running beautifully & the temps are always perfect. I love it !

I once knew two pilots that when they thought they might fly, they would pull a business card out of their wallet and look through the hole in the card. If the sky was was the same color as the card then they would fly.

We all have our little quirks. So I would not worry about it.

The topic "Mentone Education" is a very broad topic and that in itself might be the reason that people are not posting back. It was a very busy week. Between the flying, the seminars, the displays, and the meeting of new and old friends there was not a lot of free time. To me the only way to sum up this year is, you had to be there. Sorry that you were not able. Maybe next year.

Chris, truth is, we all signed a non disclosure form when we drove in the gates. We can not post any pictures or discuss anything that happened up there without formal approval by the PRA board. Im sorry dude. I wish I could tell you about all the cool things that were there but I don't want to get in trouble

The 3 forums I put on were very well attended at least 75% of the seats were taken.
I received so many compliments on both the Limiting Liability with Co-ownerships and How to selected the correct gyroplane for your intended use.

You can download Limiting Liability with Co-ownerships presentation here: http://www.aviomaniausa.com/Co-Ownership.aspx

I received so many accolades on the above presentation and PRA 31's new traveling trainer program it was embarrassing and will not list them here.

And How to selected the correct gyroplane for your intended use here: http://www.aviomaniausa.com/How2SelectGyro.aspx

On this one a gentleman raised his hand and said "I've been flying these since 1974 and I've never heard such a complete presentation that explains things he was not taught and did not even know!" This should really help newbies!

It used to be guns for me......I couldn't wait to get next months batch of magazines so I could see what I was going to spend my money on. Some new gun or accessories.

I also looked forward to Rotorcraft magazine for the same reasons. To see what was new from the vendors.

But there's nothing new under the sun !

I remember seeing the vendor at BD's that made the aluminum pulleys for the Subaru, I told everyone the to check them out. I don't know if anyone bought one, but later I did.

Support your vendors !

I will just have to assume that there was nothing of importance , for purchase , at Mentone.

Even if it was just a nice T shirt or something ?

The Arrowcopter would have been real nice to sit in & check out......I can dream can't I ?

Is this a PRA website ?

Is everything getting saved for the PRA magazine ?

BTW.....I don't spend money on ANY magazines now !
