This might seem like a REALLY dumb question, guys, but I'm trying to find a source for those SPRING CLIPS we use in place of cotter pins.

For example, on the RAF 2000 and Sparrow Hawk (and many others, of course), when bolting on the rotor blades, we secure the castellated nuts with either cotter pins or these "spring clips" (at least that's what I've been calling them).

I've contacted Aircraft Spruce and researched a number of other on-line resources, and none of them know what I'm talking about. So, does anyone know the trade name for these things, and more importantly, where I can get them?

Thanks very much.

Yes they are cowling safety pins. I wish AC spruce sold them in more sizes.

Most people bend their own from 1/16” stainless steel welding rod.
