Thumbs up Last year's El Mirage event photos

Three new photos were still in my wife's camera. Found them today while deleting many other photos.

1. GyroDoug (alias Doug Barker, PRA Chapter 2 president) getting ready for some taxi and crow hop practice.

2. Pat Richey wearing Vance's (Ed's?) helmet prior to her ride in the Predator. If you CLICK on her photo, you'll see the Yuma, AZ. WHITE Sport Copter Lightning in the far distance that WASN'T at ROTR, parked alongside what looks to be a Brock gyro.

3. Vance, Pat & myself, before they go off into the wild, blue, yonder!

Pat is such a sweetheart! I hope you can convince her to come to ROTR next year.

Post El Mirage this fall

She says she'll be along for this year's El Mirage event, but that was because other women such as Marion Springer and Karen Keene asked her.

No amount of telling about how the prior year was much less strong winds (and thus dust), I couldn't get her to return because she said there was too much heat, dust, and wind, the usual things that mess up the makeup and hair. She apparently doesn't mind the helmet hair.

She also has a very good friend in Yuba City, CA. that we stop and visit with for a few days as we pass through both ways.

She says she doesn't have enough vacation time off from work to go to the other events, such as ROTR. I think she only goes to California because of her friend in YC.

Kevin,

So we need to get her focused on all the new friends she can spend time with at ROTR. If we could all convince our wives to come spend more time with us at these events it would be way better for everyone involved. Keep trying and be patient and realize it just takes time to win people over. It has sure been a long hard road with my wife because she simply has no interest in flying herself (at all) but because she see's me struggling along for years (and she still loves me - heaven only knows why) she is slowly comming along. Good luck!!!

Doug
