My rudder cracked along the seam where the hinge bolt is. I would like to inject an adhesive to glue the two pieces together preferable something like a foam so i will get a good flow into the rudder. Would you know of a adhesive that would work? Thanks

Are you sure that is a wise idea?

What kind of rudder is it? Aluminum, fiberglass, balsa wood? You might want to post a picture. What ever you do, remember it's your tail (pun intended), do take care.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass

Brs The rudder is fiberglass with roughly a 1/2 inch void between. It is built with a foam block glued between the pieces in the middel and along the seams it was glued with some type of foam. I will clamp and inject an adhesive into the void in several places and put new fiberglass over the seam at the location of the hinge. This fix should be better then the original build being as the seam was only glued and not fiberglassed over. The product I'm looking at is a locktite adhesive that expands as it drys.
