Default Gyro ditching

A Magi ditched in Italy on 4th Aug, information and photos here.

I know one person who ditched once with a passenger in MTO Sport, cause they got the bird in their prop. Both occupants walked out uninjured. So I'm actually glad to see, here is the second case with the open-cockpit model resulting in a safe returning back to the ground (oh sorry – water )

Wow, interesting to see how that mast bent like that. I'm guessing that was a pretty wild ride from the looks of everything. Going into the water like that is one of the few times I would be wishing for an instantaneous rotor brake and or a HEEDS bottle already firmly in place !

Pity he didn't make it to the shore, he was so close. Just glad he got out of it OK.

Looking at some of the pictures it looks like the mast is snapped somewhere behind the seat.
I guess that was when the blades hit the water or lake bed.

In one picture it is laid on its side in shallow water, I suspect the upright pictures were taken during the recovery.
