Its a teaser for now because they have to have a 51% kit and commit to it and there is the question of the politics on the Xenon versus Zen1. A decent design, mired in controversy because of personalities makes me think twice to get in bed with them. But I am thinking twice right now, for sure. So I don't know yet.

snow ball effect ... I am heavy ? no problem the market supplies me with bigger trucks, a tractor to cut the grass, bigger gyro, so I can get bigger market will furnish me with bigger car, bigger Airplane seats, bigger this, bigger that ....
not a solution .. don't know if it is European arrogance to say this, maybe and arrogance is stupid, but god I don't wish anyone found out his 9 year old kid weights 45, believe me the kids don't understand when they can't run in the backyard with their friends, and the market will not find anything to help them do so ... I don't think I have to "try" to fight on this forum . You get my drift.Unfortunately, I won't be able to make Mentone this year. The gyroplane is not here yet and it probably won't make it in its airworthy (with FAA) assembled format till after Mentone. I did find Wachula extremely small this year. I sure hope Mentone is larger and more broad. I will definitely try and get to later meets. Best Regards |

Hey Fara,
Any plans for a bigger engine on these? Seems most of these European Gyros have potential for so much more with a bigger engine. Last edited by stupidceleb; 11-06-2012 at 02:54 PM. |

Because in Europe there is a certification issue. In Europe these same aircraft that we here in the U.S. have to consider experimental are actually sold as certified aircraft - hence the need for a recognized engine. I think a Lycoming O-320 would be too heavy.

Right,
There are however some new certified engines in the 130 and 160hp range. The company making them is called UL Power. Not sure if they are certified yet in specific EU countries but they probably will be in the future. Fuel injected too! http://www.ulpower.com/engines/index.html they have more engines that are currently not listed that are even higher hp. As a lot of you know I am always posting about STOL performance. It's never a bad thing to get off the ground sooner if you're able too! High hp would give most of these gyros a nice boost in take off distance, climb and even cruise. Fuel injection from Fly UL should help with fuel burn too and not to mention, no carb icing. Jeff |

BTW, the 914UL performs very well in J-Ro though I did not personally fly it but hearing it from my Swiss friend who did and I trust him
