Default Gopro headband mount

I like this method of mounting the gopro, video seems less shakey!

Very good quality. I like the pilot POV videos, we see what you're looking at.

What is your setup?
Is the headband elastic?
Are you wearing it on your head or do you use a helmet and have it on the helmet?

You've got me thinking already, make a quick disconnect mount to attach the Gopro using a NVG mount on a helmet. That maybe what you have already done, doesn't matter who thought of it ya gotta love the sharing of ideas big or small on this forum.

Jeff, thanks for sharing it and inspiring me to make a QD mount.

It looks like you're on to something with that headband mount. It is considerably smoother with less viberation and jitter.

That little pissant motor seems to be running very well and doing a great job for you! I'm happy it worked out so well for you.

.
Unfortunately it only works on your head and in my case a bald head. yeah its an elastic band that you wear like a coal miners head lamp.

My friend has a headband mount for his Gopro. I borrowed it to try it out. I went snorkeling and also tubing behind a boat. It worked pretty good. I don't want to fly without a helmet so I won't be using one while flying. I was thinking about using it for hog hunting. Here's some target practicing with it:

It's been years since I've been hog hunting and seeing a video of it would be great.

I have to ask. NVG works, so what is the difference that causes a Gopro not to work? What was the setup used and what were the results to conclude it would not work? I am thinking that it may be caused by lack of stabilizing the Gopro. Curiosity has got me now.

Somebody told Wilbur that thing will never fly….

Jeff, I see you sport Birdy style footwear. Yes certainly does seem smoother and gives a pilot eye view which seems a bit more flexible and versatile.

So just an Elastic strap round the head then? I guess that could be adapted to a helmet easily enough.

The SC way to fly, sandals and bareheaded

Hey del, sorry for not responding, just saw your post. What is nvg? The go pro comes with a lot of options for mounting.

When you buy the GoPro it comes with a bunch of mounts. Some of them are sticky adhesive type that are curved to match the upper surface of most common motorcycle/aviation style helmets. The adhesive is very strong and I've used and abused mine on several occasions never having a problem. GoPro also makes a mount that can be attached to an ANVIS NVG style helmet mount. If you want to see the durability of the sticky-type mounts, youtube some of the Kirby Chamblis Redbull videos. He flys with a bunch of Go-Pro's' stuck to various parts of his Edge 540.

NVG would be Night Vision Goggles.

Won’t be reinventing the wheel here making a mount, just one more toy to play with.

Thanks all

There are also aluminum mounts available on ebay for bolting/screwing onto surfaces if someone doesn't trust the plastic stick-on mounts.
