While breaking in my engine, I sucked up a rock and took a chunk out of my new warp drive prop
. I'm thinking of putting a 1/8"x12"x24" piece of aluminum under the keel below the prop. Does any one have a opinion on this? Single seat Dominator.

Dave /Birdy (I think) had a very good solution for this with shade netting under his gyro.
If I remember right it was a diamond shaped piece fastened somehow from the 4 wheels. Would be porous light and durable and easy to fasten.

My husband used a sheet of perforated metal under the prop on one of our two place trainers. No more busted props from things kicked up by the wheels. Since it was perforated, the metal was very light but it worked fine.
Before that fix we lost 4 props in one year and that's on the dry lake bed where there are no rocks but there are other hazards to the prop. Marion |
