Somerset, KY. Police Department to patrol skies in its own gyroplane.
This is one beautiful bird! I'm glad to see gyroplanes getting some good press. Seems everywhere I go someone will say "I saw you flying your gyro". What's interesting is most of the time it wasn't me. There are 3 very active gyros based at my home airport and seems like everyone in my community knows what a gyro is. Wish it was like that everywhere. http://somerset-kentucky.com/local/x...-own-gyroplane

David,
They did such a great job with decals that they are going to be the 'poster child/aircraft' for our program. I think they did an awesome job! Mike |

That is one nice looking gyro. I sure would like to buy a couple at $13,000 each. I think it may should have been $130,000. Maybe the public would not like that so much.
Great to see the gyros finally going to good use.

Compared to the helicopters one see in various police air units their acquisition and operating costs should make the public very happy.

Awhile back the Federal Justice Department was buying LSA fixed wings for some small municipalities. I don't know what or where that pool of money came from. Hopefully not borrowed from China !
