The propeller is mounted on the aircraft to keep the pilot cool. If you don't think so, let the fan quit and watch the pilot sweat.

If I were 18 again. I'd know the answer to any question. I seem to get dumber the older I get.

If at first you don't succeed, STOP.

There is no sense making a fool of yourself twice!

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer.
If all else fails, read the instructions.

The six rules I live by;

1. You don't ask, you don't get.

2. It's much easier to get forgiven, than to get permission.

3. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

4. Nothings easy.

5. Nothings impossible, but is it practical and worth the cost?

6. Never walk if you can ride, or never stand when you can sit, or never sit when you can lie down, but most importantly never do nothing when something can be done.

i have a wise saying that i came up with. It happened when my coworker and i were discussing whether or not he should wear a helmet when riding his motorcycle.

"If you don't think your head and brain are worth protecting, you're probably right."

I'm sure you can roll wearing a helmet while flying into that statement too.

This one is directed more at life in General than specifically at flying, however, it certainly applies to all those who have a desire to start flying and it just never seems to be the right time.

If gyrocopters are so safe, how come there are no vintage/classic gyro fly-ins?

Met forecasting is not easy.. if fact they often get it wrong
"No they don't, they forecast right, but just get the timing wrong !"

When buying a sailplane select the one with the best trailer and just accept what's in side...
Anyone who spends thousands on a trailer will spend more on the contents.
