Default Fulton Co. Airport is not a dumpster

I am put in the precarious spot of having to announce that Fulton Co. Airport is not a dumpster. I announced on the forum here about the availability of nice hangers for us to rent while at Mentone. Sharon called me today to tell me whoever rented hanger B2 left a lot of trash in it and they are not happy about it.

My hanger was B3 and it was left clean as I found it....John Rountree can testify how I was even picking up little pieces off the floor.

B4 was reported also left clean.

I dont know who rented B2 but I would appreciate a call to Fulton Co. Airport to offer cleanup compensation. This just was not right.

I have a good thing going with Fulton Co. Airport with the hanger and JetA purchases, and I dont appreciate my announcing they have hangers for aircraft for rent , then being used as a dumpster.

Default I was in B4

Me, Doug & the other Doug rented B4. I agree with Stan a call and offer to compensate for clean up will go a long way in keeping a good relationhip with the folks at Fulton County.

Sure hope that was not a PRA member, we need membership but not that bad. If they will treat another airport that bad they will do the same anywhere else including the convention. If it was a mess when they got there, they should have spread some good will and cleaned it up !!!!!

Tony

PS If it is a PRA member, I think their membership should be reviewed. I will contribute $50 toward restitution.

I had not considered the possibility of it being a mess when whoever rented it arrived. I would've had to go off airport property and hauled stuff back in a clean rental car to have left it a mess. I'm with Tony I'll pay $50.00 to maintain goodwill.

I know what you are reffering to eddie, I used to attend a lot of EAA conventions (19 in a row one time) but there were "trashy people" at the convention then as well, it's just that there seems to always be someone with a sense of pride and manners that comes along and cleans up after them, but we sure don't need that breed in our small group.

Can someone give a address or party to send the money to ?? I have no problem sending it to the FBO at Fulton Count Airport, with a written apology as a member of the PRA for the actions by this party.

Who rented the hangar? Shouldn't be a mystery? How dirty was it left? Did the airport provide a trash can in the hangar?

C'mon Stan.

How about a little hint.
Maybe their initials, or what kind of aircraft they were flying?

I believe Stan knows quite well who the renter of B2 was. If he pays the cost for cleaning the hangar I don't see anything gained by revealing his name. If, however, he refuses to make amends, then the full wrath of the forum should be brought to bear.

I will call Sharon first thing this morning and tell her to add the cleanup cost to my credit card number they have on file. I will never reveal the name, as there is a slim chance someone else , kids, whatever, put the trash in there. I did not have a padlock on my hanger, but when John Rountree took me to the hanger Sunday morning, the latch had been flipped and opened. My heart raced for a second until I slid open the door and my Turbinator had not been messed with. Dennis- John Higgenbotham was never at the airport. Its not my style to go open locked hangers that I don't have a key to to see if they were left clean. John- You have Todds name confused with Ed Darcy. Ed had the R44 that stayed on the ramp.Stan

Tony- I will post Sharons phone number here after I call her an hour from now. I hope the right person will call that number and add to the tab I am going to pick up. Stan

Sad that this happened, hope it can be sorted out to the airports satisfaction.

Sad also to see Dennis baiters taking yet another opportunity to take a pop at him. Debating various points about what has happened in the past is one thing. Taking cheap shots when he was apparently not even there is another. Gratuitous sh*tstirring plain and simple.

Stan, sorry man.... Im sure you won't like this, but.... you had no business putting this on the forum if you were not going to call out this persons name.

If you know who it is, and you didn't like how the hangar was left, you should have contacted this person privately and dealt with it privately.

Only a small handful of people here even went to mentone and out of that only just a couple people went to Fulton to hangar their aircraft.
