Long time Freeway Traffic Reporter Mike Noland crashed his C-182 near Corona Airport around 6:20 PM local time. Mike and his passenger have suffered serious injuries, but are alive.
Living in the Los Angeles area, I have known and met most of the Freeway Traffic Reporters over the past 30 years and this crash has come as a shock. In the past 30 days, I've lost one friend, lost two acquaintances and now today's crash. Everyone, be safe out there, take your time when you fly. I heard this afternoon that Mike Nolan had suffered a broken collar bone and several broken ribs and was allowed to go home today. Knowing Mike, He'll be back in the air real soon.
