Hello, I saw the motor on the last Aero.

What happened to the Rotax RST?

Kai.

We currently work on Xenon to offer clients 24 months guarantee period. RST engine is too much complexity in the production and certification, and we wod not be able to offer that 24 months mention before. The project will not continue. Prices of our configurator is a complete kit, the motor with mounting kit, control panel, accessories...

I am very encouraged to see gyros such as the Xenon become a recognized aircraft all around the world and other such gyros of the same class. As this class of gyros becomes more visable in the public eye I feel that sooner or later one is going to go for certification. This will put it squarely in the FAA spotlight as a viable commercial aircraft.

I remember many years ago when a local TV station had a Mcculloch J-2 but eventually discontinued using it as it was "to noisy and used to much fuel". I think a Xenon class gyro could now fill that type of use quite well.

MW motors aka "david engine". If I remember well I think the weight differance is more than 6kg. It has a press fit assembled crank like the 912 which is a big weight saver.

The MW engine is over 2000cc as compared to rotax 1500cc.

It is supposed to run 130hp without turbo charging.

I can also hardly believe it is just 6kg more.
Plain physics will not allow this.

Let's wait and see when the first machine is completed,
proven weight figures are available and she makes several
hundred hours without issues.

Then the high price might be justified.

Also the difference in service availability for MW and 914 doesn't
speak for the new solution.

Hi Kris,

Thanks for the update.

When do you expect to have your first new build Xenon ready for flight testing ?

Is the first new build example the black painted cab in the photo ?

Will this be fitted with the new MW engine or a Rotax ?

When ( approximately ) do you anticipate first customer delivery 2012 / 2013 ?

Many Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,
we are planning to finish construction of first Xenon till the end of August.
The black Xenon is first machine that is in production.
We are still installing Rotax engines (black one and other first Xenons will have Rotax) , MW is in preparation.

Peter
