I'm getting ready to check the gear oil in my Rotax ""B" box. It is inverted. If I have to add oil can I just add it through the vent tube once I remove it? Or do I have to put it into the top hole and fill until it comes out the lower hole?

I fill through the top hole, until it runs out the bottom hole.
Also, I changed to MobilOne synthetic gear oil, back when I first started the engine. Have 200 + hours now, surprising how cool the gearbox runs .

Partner,
For me to fill through the top hole I would have to remove my prerotator wheel assembly and I really didn't want to do that. Can I fill through the breather hole? |

Yes, you may fill through the breather hole until the bottom hole starts to seep oil.
I also used Mobil 1 synthetic oil...75-140. Never had an issue with the gear box. I checked the bottom hole once every 10 hrs or so. If it seeps when you unscrew it, it's topped off.

I really appreciate the help you guys. Going to the airport this evening hopefully getting some air under the tires. Got up this morning at 0330 hours to get to the airport but by 0430 it was raining.
