Default PRA Chapter 38 Thank You!

I had called on my brother gyronauts once again...this is becoming a pattern...when I was in Indiana I met with all the great guys there, the two Dougs, Rick W and some others..
This time I'm in Colorado Springs, so I contacted the local guys of Chapter 38.
What a great group, Todd (Racer) showed me all about how he did his Yamaha conversion,While Mark S (8081?) and I talked about his Xenon and Density Altitude issues.
Jeff Mitchell (Hattrick) astonished me withhis ability to talk like an Aussie OR Casey Casum at will...neat trick.
After some hanger flying we went to Marks house where I grilled up some Beer Brats and onions and the real work began
We decided to come up with a way to drastically reduce take off distance with a somewhat simple and not too heavy bolt on addition to most gyros that would get us on our target example a rotor RPM or approx 320! It won't even be that expensive! Between Mark and Todd And Jeff and me we could have probably solved half the countrys problems right there!
Todd as a machinist and Jeff the mathmatician and a couple of idea men...when the light bulb went off it was pretty impressive looking around the table at all of the grins!
NO I'm not letting the cat out of the bag yet, Todd says things are never that easy, But I think it will be! (dreamer)
Also thanks Todd for pointing out that the muffler on my bike was falling off! it would have been at the least VERY expensive to fix if not fatal! We got the parts right down the road for 2.50$ and I'm good to go!
Again thanks guys, we WILL keep in touch while I' here so we can hammer this idea into a working prototype!
Stay tuned...
Oh and Dave, this makes me a member of 4 count em 4 different PRA chapters!

And don't forget that there is not a single problem that can't be solved with the proper use of explosives.

No worries mate, glad to have met ya. Hopefully Todd can get a handle on all the ideas we floated. Thanks again for the brats! Only worries I had was converting from inch pounds to newton metres, metric is so much easier for calculations

Thanks Ben. Welcome to the CRA.

Saturday was the first PRA38 "Open Hangar" get together.

No Agenda, No Minutes, just drop by and join the conversation. And that conversation lasted from 10 am until after 6pm for some of us.

This was the first of many more to come.
