Great news he got away unscathed. My heart sank when I saw 'accident'.

Pity about his machine.

Nice interview here with the pilot Don - he comes across cool calm and collected - well done on bringing it down safely.

Paul - can you confirm the gyro type and if possible the ASRA "G-......" number - thakn you ( can't see G-..... number on the mud covered wreckage ).

Lucky! Yep.. A good name.
Weve had a similar ditch in the water here... with trouble undoing harness while sinking. Ive almost convinced myself that unbuckling when extended flying over water may have merit.

Can't help Steve, Don's machine was not registered!!!!! Authorities trying to track him down but not returning calls!!!!

Yikes - thank goodness he didn't harm any other person or property ( potential insurance headache ) - can't imagine this incident brought much of a smile to the faces over at ASRA/ATSB/CASA.
