Boiled peanuts are just raw peanuts that have been boiled in salted water for 2-3 hours. Great with beer or a cold soda, these salty soft peanuts are totally addictive. A little messy too, given that the shells absorb some of the water which can squirt out at you when you bite into them to get the nut out. People usually eat them outside where you can toss the shells and not worry about the salt water dribbles.

What if a traveling instructor had a semi set in stone schedule. Using Steve as an example, he could cover a set number of states. Say six states, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tenn., and Alabama. He could go to each state twice a year. Six months apart or stagger them where you would be there three months apart. Stay for one week or two depending on number of students. He could establish relationships with one or two airports per state, so maybe not be at the same airport twice in a year. Students would have the advantage of not traveling as far, possibly driving home nightly. Student could take a weeks vacation and get a lot of time in or just a couple of days of time. Then he would have a couple of months to save up for his next lessons. Just a thought. I would understand requiring deposits from students though. That would only be fair.

Well we will see...

Chapter 31 HAS started a co-owned two-place trainer sharing program where it is kept in different states for the same number of days as their ownership percentage and available to all member of the chapters who show up at fly-in's or the airport it is currently located in.

We have a few private investors and a few chapters that will be making presentations to their members in the next couple of months.

The problem we are trying to solve is: We have found 3 gyroplane instructors in So. California (with 8 million+ residents prospect students) and there are more listed with the FAA I haven't contacted that have the passion to teach us but their WIVES will not allow them to buy the 35K to 100K two-place trainer as the market is too small to be profitable.

They have all agreed to join Chapter 31 and become a co-owner and teach us in our aircraft.

Also just announcing our intentions has increased PRA 31's membership and we do not even have it paid for or built yet.
This makes me feel more assured than ever that once PRA 31 has a real member benefit of providing local inexpensive training that we will really start to grow.

I'd like to include the entire PRA membership.

Hi Steve
No we are building a Genesis two-place G2sa with our O320 Lyc. and will cost about 36K including the engine & 6K to 8K in avionics. = Lower cost = cheaper usage fees!
I was quoting the instructors prices they felt they had to spend not our actual Genesis price.
