Nicolas has created a whole line of these for Aviomania.

Check this out:

With all due respect John, those aren't his designs. I've seen those elsewhere. I think he put those images there as an example of what CAN be done.

John you are mistaken. The images are actually aircraft that i built based on some radio controlled aircraft i had. the helicopter is a modified Hirobo Eagle, the airplane is a composite plane i made for aerial photography years ego (when we used to fly it and judge were the camera was pointing) and the simple quatrocopter is an aluminum frame I just put together.

the first development was the electronics. We now have 3 versions finished.

1. radio controlled.

2 GPS assisted radio controlled. (the autopilot keeps the current position.... move it up or down or any other direction, press a button and the uav stays there. Change position as many times as you like and stay at those spots and height without interference from the pilot. when you finish just press the "return to home" button and the uav comes home... you will only need to control the descend rate for landing)

3. Fully autonomous flight. A complete take off, mission execution and auto landing for the rotor crafts. the airplane for the moment needs some assistance for landing (the flare mostly)... but we are working on the electronics for that as well.

The final "Air frames" are in the works.

the biggest demand for now is aerial videography / photography so the "production" airframes we just finished is an octocopter, Y6 and a hexacopter.

next frame will be the airplane frame modification of my old frame.

attached the octocopter frame before installing the electronics. All carbon sheets, carbon tubes are made in house and cut with CNC.

I am very busy now.... but when i get the time i should upload a video with it flying.

Do you have a price list for the UAVs?

So, I'm not really far off am I?

Those were BORROWED designs.
I'm not trying to be difficult, but anyone can take off the shelf components and make a UAV these days. Such as the ones pictured on your website.

I'm excited to see a design from you. Please post video of it when it's completed.

Jon

Reluctantly I'll post MINE since you showed me YOURS

This is a FPV UAV R/C that I built BASED on gyroplanes. I hope you like it. It lacks GPS at the moment but a short order will fix that soon.

There is no new ultralight at Sport Copter. Just fat machines with lots of horsepower.

This is the 1/4 scale I've been working on for years and I finally got off my butt and finished it. I hope to be selling them for the hobby trade this summer.

My UAV pilot Walt just returned from Lake Tahoe NV. While he was there he couldn't resist flying his UAV being controled through goggles over the old Ponderosa theme park that had closed years ago.

He made a nice little video of it. In fact, I was disappointed when I went there 3 years ago and found the park closed, and I was happy to get this view of it.

Enjoy;

Default Hybrid UAV Helicopter?

Dennis, just an idea.

Hybrid for UAVs; Long Flight Duration and Silent Running ~ A Possible Advantage:

Preamble; Currently, the Genset can be practical for vehicles that are required to provide different levels of power to the wheels during a trip, particularly when using regeneration for braking. Unfortunately, the helicopter operates at fairly constant power setting and this implies that a Genset may only be viable for rotorcraft while the industry waits for significantly improved batteries or capacitors etc.
~ however ~
Twin rotor configurations have a better thrust/weight ratio than the main+tail rotor configuration. This twin-rotor advantage can be used to offset any additional weight resulting from 'short-term' batteries.

The on-board Genset would be used to electrically drive the individual motors, and to charge the short-term batteries when there is a need to. This will allow for most of a flight to be powered by the noisy engine of the Genset and also provide for silent flight over a short but critical duration.

Just an idea.

Dave
