Chapter 73 camera trap results at Scappoose, Oregon last Saturday, 01-14-12
After setting up camera traps for years, and at various locations, we finally have captured a snapshot of the elusive gyro creature named "Scary Gary"(Scientific name: Scarius Garius)!
Usually secretive, he can be tempted from his lair by the sound of gun fire and the smell of gunpowder. But, he can also be attracted to loud whopping sounds, as well as gentle swishing winds, as produced by gyroplane rotorblades. It was with the use of these frequencies that he was lured and captured on digital this last Saturday.
Formally of Illinois (having been a known associate of another rarely seen gyro creature, the Tomus Miltonus), he also once was located in Fallon, Nevada, where he walked not-softly, and carried a big stick (badge and gun).
Tiring of the mid-west cold and humidity, as well as the other extreme of heat and total lack of humidity of the Nevada desert, he relocated to the western Oregon region of the Pacific Northwest rain forest belt, where he rusts away like other gyro folk commonly found in the region.
For those who haven't seen him up close, since his avatar is so small, here is Rotary Wing Forum member "Scary Gary", giving all of us a formal salute from Scappoose, Oregon.
I think we all should be grateful that he is using more than one finger.
