I'd like to see some pics of the tanks that SC has to offer.
How do they recommend the plumbing be connected? What type of caps ? It seems their parts section of their website is down for now.

I just put these babies on.
They T together to a fuel pump and then dump into the main fuel tank. I got a switch (with a LED light off to the side) that I can flip on to transfer the fuel. But they look pretty much like yours. I did blow out a lot of plastic crap out of the new tanks. I been testing them out for the last couple of weeks and I put them to the test last Thursday when I flew to the Doolittle Raiders reunion. They work out great! I needed a fill up, I just flip the switch. I really can't tell to much of a difference in performance. Fully loaded the rotors spin a little faster. The two aux. caps are vented, with a fuel gage on them. They do have a screw that you can close off the vent. Doug S. |

They are the same ones that I got from Air Command 20+ years ago. How does SC tell you to plumb them ?

There was a guy from Mentone a couple of years ago that made a metal fuel tank that fit on the inside of his pod and laid on the floor. If I can find the picture I'll post it. Doug S. |

Doug- Your SportCopter is eye candy. It always caught my attention at Mentone last year. It would be nice if you started a thread showing detailed views of your beautiful gyro. Just say Stan wants to see more! Stan

Doug, did SC supply the pump with the tanks ?
Are your caps hard to remove? (as in tight fit ?) I can't see the pump in the pics.

Chris,
The kit comes with the pump. We also offer an aluminum tank kit that has 2x5 gallon tanks.

I'm not sure of the brand. You'd have to call and ask. It's a fuel pump Chris

I thought this one would be good.......http://www.jegs.com/i/Mr-Gasket/720/...ductId=1196572
I looked at them at autozone last night & the pack said 28 GPH. I still am going to try the suction method with my tanks. If that gives me too much trouble I am going to pump them like you guys do. Then, I will try to use a 12 volt rechargable battery pack, instead of getting a reg/rec & 12v battery system. I want to get a set of strobes with LED position markers & would like to run the LEDs with the same bat pack.

Why rechargable? Do you plan on recharging the battery every flight? or what? Trying to save weight?

Thanks Doug. My caps are a bitch to remove. When I srew them on hand tight , I need pliers to get them back off ! Not much room to get a firm grip.
Jon, The LEDs will use very little juice & I am trying to figure out how long the pump will run & how much juice it takes. Like I said, instead of adding a reg/rec & a battery system (mode C veil thing), just use a batt pack & recharge it just like I do with my Icom radio. What are you guys asking for your Extended range tank kit ?
