Smile Gyrobee

Gyrobee $4.5K firm Curran in Jacksonville, FL 904-728-5641
Rotax 447 w/ 150 TT , tube and fabric tail, Brock blades, Powerfin prop. I fly it every chance I get. You must pick it up. Have a 10' trailer w/ ramp I'd sell with the gyro for $750. Not interested in trades or bargaining.

I can't believe that no one has jumped on this one yet! I saw it when I picked up my soma. Curran is a good and honest guy, You couldn't build a gyrobee this cheap.

Man, get in and fly for $4500. That is a really good deal for a nice clean machine like this.

Maybe it isn't close enough for anyone who is interested.

How close is not close enough for a deal??? I drove with trailer to Colorado the summer before last to pick up a hot deal.

a smart buyer would give Curran a deposit and pick it up on the way to or the way from Bensen Days. Or maybe Curran could take to Bensen Days..... It is a heck of a machine for the money.

What is the rotor disc dia.? What is the realistic weight limit for a beginner pilot for this? Does the trailer have blade storage or is there some kind of a blade box? What does it weigh? How easy is it to add a prerotator to something like this?

John I think the blades are 24 or 23 footers... Screw would know they are his old blades.

Curran weights about as much as I do - 200lbs - and I would imagine it would lift a little more. How much do you weight?

I don't know if Curran has a blade box or not. Try picking up the phone and call him and ask. Sure he has something to put them in.

Curran is a Preacher for a Local church in Jacksonville. I tend to believe what he says. He swore that this bee is a legal ultralight, meaning it weights less than 254 pounds. I doubt it is much lighter than 254 but I am sure it is real close.

It would not be too hard to add a pre rotator, but you would no longer be a legal ultralight, and the extra weight would hurt performance, and it would cost you about 1000$ to add one.... Those Brock blades hand start very easily. I would leave it alone and fly it as is.

Scottessex, is that the gyrobee for sale?
if so why are they so cheap?
What is the max altitude?
$4500 that sounds good, bet it will fit in the bed of a truck.
would this be a good entry, or play toy?

I have a few hundred hours flying cessnas, is there much of a difference?
Just kidding..

Looking forward to reading and learning more, definately want one.

Willie

CrazyWilly, Talk to Curran3 he is the owner, I just recently bought a soma gyro from him, and I saw the gyrobee when I was there.
Get ahold of Curran, and have him give you the skinny on it, I think he has enough parts to build another one.
You couldn't build it that cheap!
Ron Awad has flown lots of gyrobee's.

Default Bee

John,
I just got back from a conference and went through the mail. There is no check from you. What's up? Give me a call asap as I've been telling people this week it was sold.

Good for you Curran, I am sure the new owner will be as happy as I am with the soma I got from you, I hope you will be able to enjoy your boat, Mabe you could get a gyro on floats instead of a dinghy!

Default CURRAN3... What's the lowdown on that tail?

Curran3,
Hello, I like the tail on the gyrobee you just sold.
Got any info in it? It sure looks light.

John
