Default New Sparrow Hawk Dealer

Thought is was about time we introduced ourselves. A Year ago April we became a Sprarrow Hawk dealer. We have been a little slow getting started but hope to be flying in a few months. Julie and I are both fixed wing CFI's and will be getting our gyro ad-on soon. I will get mine first as I have been flying gyro's since the 70's. I have had Benson's, Aircommand's and the last one was a Hollman Sportster with a 150 lycoming. I have over 14000 hours total with around 400 in gyros. We just finished our new 100 x 80 hangar in February. We have a great pilot lounge and 2 bedrooms as there are no motels within 30 miles. Julie and I have restored several aircraft and in October of last year flew our New RV-10 we built in 16 months (slow build kit) We have been in Aviation a long time, just not around this forum. I have been reading this forum for months now and have enjoyed so much of the banter that goes on. Hope to make lots of new friends!!

Alwaya glad to see a new Gyro dealer. However the thing that seemed to be missing in your string was the location of the dealership. If it wasn't missing, I guess I didnt read it carefully enough. Ron

Jim & Julie: Another big welcome to the forum. That is a beautiful facility you two have....very nice. Also thats nice you two built the RV together.

Nothing in my book beats building your own aircraft. You two have chosen an excellent fixed wing to build...and I assure you that you wont be disappointed with the SparrowHawk.

Are you two going to Mentone? If so...you will find a most wonderful group of people.

Stan

Jim & Julie, If working together you built an RV-10 slow build in 16 months and still like each other then I am positive your Sparrow Hawk build will be a piece of cake and you will love it. It does my heart wonders seeing a couple with the same interests work together to make something happen. You are blessed with your commitment together and should I say you are double blessed to be able to work together to achieve your goals with one of the best Gyroplanes out there. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted on your progress.

Julie and I also spent a year and a half restoring a Howard DGA15P. Not may couples can spend 24-7 together and get along. By the way, Julie is one the best primary instructors I know. I get bored with the beginning stuff. I like doing tail dragger, air combat and aerobatics instruction. I think I will enjoy primary gyro training for a while, then turn it over to Julie when I get her up and running. By the way, she is English!! You will love the accent. here is a pic of the RV-10 and Howard.

Besides being English -- She's darn good looking.

You got lucky all the way around.

Just got back from Oshkosh. Had a great time talking with the Sparrow Hawk folks. In August they will be offering a quick build kit. So much is already done. Guessing around 200 hours to build, for only 6000 more for the kit. They really are trying hard to put out an outstanding Gyroplane. Also saw the new Sport Copter!!! Very impressive, but no idea when it will fly. Cost?? Around 90 grand!!! Got my engine today, so will be trying to finish up in the next couple of months.
