I always respect other people opinions, but social inequality is expressed through the unequal distribution of wealth in society, and is the expression of lack of access to housing, health care, eduction, employment opportunities, and status. It is the exclusion of people from full and equal participation in what we, the members of society, perceive as being valuable, important personally worthwhile and socially desirable. This discussion of inequality in America is a taboo subject because of the national reluctance to examine how the class system of the United States operates on a day-to-day basis, we do not learn from our schools or media how a privileged but organized minority of Americans is able to amass a disproportionate share of our national wealth and to transmit that privilege across generations to create a permanent economic, political, and social elite class. On crime, there are valid statistics that prove crime is increasing among adolescents, that more men commit crimes than women, and that urban areas suffer from higher rates of crime than their rural counterparts. Further, there is more crime in the United States than in any other industrial nation. What could possibly explain these phenomenon? it’s the economy! More exactly, it is because of the class stratification manifested by capitalism in a society that continues to over-emphasize materialism as the gap between rich and poor continues to widen. We don’t liberate neither protect the world but we protect by force, interventions and crime our big business interest. We don’t give away anything , we take as much as we can. The Monroe Doctrine is the bedrocks of expansionism and intervention which has caused so much misery, death and impoverishment for millions across Latin America, below you find a small sample of our protection:

Expressed or not, what you are referring to is economic inequality, not social inequality. On the fritz, in all fuzziness, you are mixing the two.

America has the lowest rate of lack of access to housing, health care, education, employment opportunities, and status on the planet. I have regularly worked with the homeless, and have been homeless, and they, almost unanimously prefer their condition, and will only move out of their condition if they have housing given to them with maid service for good measure. It is rare to find an honest desire for a better life amongst the homeless. They simply cannot be moved from their morass, and would rather live under a bridge than deal with the realities of life. Put them in the public spotlight, coddle them a little with the possibility of receiving something for nothing and they will do the dog and pony all day long to let the World know how abused they are and how unfair the World is to them, if the World would only give them a chance. Their problem is a social problem, not an economic problem, and all the money in the World will not repair the problem

No one suffers a lack of health care in America but that they refuse it themselves, and all the free health care in the World will not change that. This is exampled everywhere national health care is currently in place, it has the same problems, and is breaking the back of those nation's markets as homelessness, welfare, unemployment and crime rates and a general lack of productivity all have risen because of it. France's conservative government is now working to turn that around, they're trying to find some way to pull people out of their we don't have to produce morass. In France, Doctors are paid less than I earn as a union worker; and nurses are living far below our poverty levels, they are like store clerks here. Yet their national health care only pays two-thirds of their health care, and anyone wanting more must purchase more while everyone is taxed at nearly 70% of their income. 20% unemployment, because they do not have to work. The governments of Europe had to build corporations like Airbus to create jobs, and that corporation would not exist in a free market. They live in a vicious fascist state of government intervention at taxpayer expense requiring more government intervention and they have not improved anything about their existence because the homeless are still on the streets, the criminals justify their actions. Ironically, everywhere on the planet, the biggest contributor to people dropping out of society is the burden government places upon them - they work and receive little for it, never able to get ahead by their own wit.

Education in America is suffering because of this same problem of people thinking you can throw tax money at it and fix it. Well, we throw huge sums of tax money at the problem, and keep increasing the poor results in education. We build huge concrete monoliths to our children's future, locating them on prime properties with a view, staff them with people earning far more per year than a doctor in the EEU, and still turn out a tattooed, pierced, pornographic populace that does not understand where the Mississippi River is located much less the function of their reproductive organs other than that they produce unfortunate results. Then we cover their nearly $20K annual public transportation bill and most of the costs for them to go to university, building Billion Dollar campuses so they can then inflict their perversity upon others. No wonder "Christian" schools are springing up everywhere and parents are willing to not only pay their taxes for the profane schools, but then work twice as hard to pay for their own schools to preserve their children's hearts and minds from the Borg.

Opportunity includes the ability to fail based upon one's own character, or it isn't opportunity at all. Stealing by force of law from one man to cover another's bad character is not providing opportunity.

When a house is afire, we call the fire department. Most of the time they are only able to contain the fire and keep it from spreading too far. They do not rebuild your house for you. If they find that it was you who set the fire, they bill you for their efforts, they bill you for the damage you have done to your neighbor; your insurance company sues you for their loss, your bank continues to demand their mortgage payments, and they put you in jail for a nice long time for causing the problem in the first place. We have built a Uniform Commercial Code to cover this kind of stuff, which includes Fire Codes and Building Codes to protect ourselves from one another. I like it like that.

When we develop a Uniform Commercial Code for the human body, along with Health and Building Codes covering every aspect of when, where and with whom we reproduce, every aspect of our behaviors, and even the death process; then I might see having universal health care of a kind which attempted to put out the fire burning within us, but certainly not to rebuild our body with transplants or implants. You'd still need insurance to rebuild, you'd still need to make your payments, and you would most certainly need to face jail time (the glue factory might be better) if you caused the damage to your body in the first place. That's economic recovery dude. Status is earned, not stolen.

The lines have come back at the Consulate in Sao Paulo, visas are sought again, my guess is that the economy will start its bounce and brazilians know that.

You have a reading comprehension problem Fritz.

If you nationalize health care, homelessness will increase, welfare rolls will increase, unemployment will increase, prices will increase, and crime will increase just as they have done everywhere it's been adopted. America's strong economy will be pressed down and controlled by the likes of those who proposed the failed 400+ page EU Constitution, which would have created the Fascist State of Europe had its citizens not seen its hideousness.

You see, this is the problem, if we socialize our health system drug companies will be only able to sell drugs to treat diseases instead diseases to fit their drugs. Half of our population is drugged. Google the drugs companies only to find about the monstrous profits of health insurance and drug companies. Illness and medical bills were linked to at least 62.1% of all personal bankruptcies in 2007. We must socialize our health care to survive. Unemployment is unionization; high union wages that exceed the competitive market rate are likely to cause job losses in the unionized sector of the economy. Also, those who lose high-wage union jobs are often reluctant to accept alternative low-wage employment. What’s wrong working for less money? It will force the oil companies and manufactures to lower they pricing structure, cut the abdominal payouts to crooked CO ( they send us broke, remember?) We have to socialize our labor force to have a decent living standard. Equal Pay for Equal Work” ,what’s wrong with this principle? On education the U.S. continues to move backward toward increasing minority segregation in highly unequal schools; the job situation remains especially bleak for American blacks, and Latinos have a college completion rate that is shockingly low. At the same time, very little is being done to address large scale challenges such as continuing discrimination in the housing and home finance markets, among other differences across racial lines. The lesson to take from this is that we have elected a president, who is the product of excellent integrated schools and colleges, we should work hard to extend such opportunities to and develop the talents of the millions of blacks and Latinos who still face isolation and denial of an equal chance.

Stasis is what is wrong with it Fritz. The human mind continually seeks perfection in stasis. It has been the horror of man's history. The son of a school superintendent in the North of Russia went to university in St. Petersburg on the Czar's dollar determined to find fairness and stasis. Finding many like minded children of privilege to share his dream, and bankers in America to stand behind his dream, hundreds of millions died. Lenin soon enough realized the monster he had created.

But I do want to encourage you, if you are so moved, to develop the talents of millions of blacks and Latinos. In the meantime, ask yourself why they segregate themselves, not all do, and how you can change that.

Canada's bankruptcy rate is higher than America's, and their cancer survival rate is lower than America's; all this even though they have a socialized, nationalized single-payer health system. They get nice, unproductive lines to wait in though. You can spend hours in a snot filled room with your equals, and, if you are better than everyone else, you can purchase real health care or insurance.

Oh, did I mention that Canada's average income is just over America's poverty income level? And that compulsory tax withholding is about 30% of that income. This before all other taxation.

What is the correct tree Fritz?

What is your definition of socialism?

Where is your model of socialism successful?

Why don’t you move there to enjoy the benefits of socialism?

Communism is socialism, just more invasive. The mentality, the logic and the purpose of those pushing communism is the same as those pushing socialism; the only difference being how property is owned. Same tree, different branch.

Socialism's goal is to keep private business honest and fair in its practices, versus ballooning their wealth at the expense of the common everyday working man, the current form of capitalism has proved to be an abysmal failure for those who are at the bottom end of the wealth ladder. The plagues of America today are beyond the reach of the modern medical system, and that system is itself a peculiarly outrageous example of antisocial imperatives: high technology health care which serves fewer and fewer people. Part and parcel of this system are the thieving drug companies, working in concert with the hospitals and insurance industry. Doctors have long since been shoved to the side as major players, it is the working class who will always foot the bill of the upper class; socialism tries to find a balance. On education, the government would be paying for College tuition of its citizens through taxes and education would be standardized, you could go to a community college and learn the same stuff they do at Harvard. Education is the pillar of society, no more privileged and astronomically expensive education for the rich boys. Health, education, communications, social security would be handled by the government. You can still have free market enterprise in Socialism. Why move? We are already socialist country, dint we bail out the rich and powerful with our tax money? People who think Socialism sucks are usually uneducated

Distinguish socialism from communism is that socialism generally refers to an economic system,(not a political system) while communism generally refers to both an economic and a political system, as an economic system, socialism seeks to manage the economy through deliberate and collective social control. Communism, however, seeks to manage both the economy and the society by ensuring that property is owned collectively, and that control over the distribution of property is centralized in order to achieve both classlessness and statelessness.

You seem to be mixing terms Fritz.

Control suggests a political system and you say that socialism is about controlling greed but it is not a political system.

You say socialism is about fair and yet you say that the bank bailout is evidence of socialism.

It appears to me that socialism is a fantasy for losers where they feel that if the world were fair they wouldn’t be losers.

In my opinion, government trying to make things fair by rewarding poor decision making stops people from learning to make good decisions.

Thank you, Vance

No good living in the clouds time for landing in today’s reality, not only we bailed out the banks but went on to bail out the same crooked and thieving capitalist that got us in this mess in the first place. In your fantasy, the only looser is the tax payer and that includes you to. Get educated before you mix your terms on what is really socialisms.

On the fritz

On the fritz

Socialism's goal is to keep private business honest and fair in its practices, versus ballooning their wealth at the expense of the common everyday working man.

But Fritz, we already tax the cojones off of private business, and it just gets stronger, bringing higher prices back to the consumer to pay for the taxes and regulation. Europe is nearly feudal today because of this.

The current form of capitalism has proved to be an abysmal failure for those who are at the bottom end of the wealth ladder.

This from one living in the wealthiest, most productive country on the planet. Fritz, the bottom of your ladder is rightly failure, get used to it, or climb out like the rest of us. That is the purpose of ladders Fritz.

The plagues of America today are beyond the reach of the modern medical system, and that system is itself a peculiarly outrageous example of antisocial imperatives: high technology health care which serves fewer and fewer people.

Americans receive two to three times as much health care as anyone else on the planet, and do not pay any more for medical procedures than anyone else. Fritz, social order is rightly having people in the place they have earned. Get a job.

Part and parcel of this system are the thieving drug companies, working in concert with the hospitals and insurance industry. Doctors have long since been shoved to the side as major players.

Socialism is theft. Drugs do not exist outside the ownership of those who produce them. Drug companies are so tightly regulated and taxed that they must charge high prices for new drugs. Did you know that many other nations, those socialist bastions you admire, run on our regulations and forced testing of new products; they get the results of our processes for free.

If you want to control their profit margins, then do that, but watch out, they'll move to Mexico or India, and only offer their products to the highest bidding nation.

It is the working class who will always foot the bill of the upper class; socialism tries to find a balance.

Fritz, your imaginary "upper class" already foots the bill because of your socialism, and all it does is raise prices and reduce wages for me across the board while the wealthy get wealthier. What you are really saying is that you can't compete in the contest of life as a whole man. We've already made arrangement for the elderly and the disabled, those with a reason for their inability to cope, what will be your excuse.

On education, the government would be paying for College tuition of its citizens through taxes and education would be standardized, you could go to a community college and learn the same stuff they do at Harvard. Education is the pillar of society, no more privileged and astronomically expensive education for the rich boys.

Communism Fritz. The quality and content of education are based upon the knowledge and abilities of those teaching. If you took all the wealth of the wealthy and distributed it to those who did not earn it, it would barely make America's next car payment, and we'd all be out of jobs.

Health, education, communications, social security would be handled by the government.

You can still have free market enterprise in Socialism.

Why move? We are already socialist country, dint we bail out the rich and powerful with our tax money? People who think Socialism sucks are usually uneducated.

Well, Fritz; Europe is a wonderful place, full of freebies; and they're awaiting you with open arms.
