Mark, Good to see you flying and happy to see that you got to take Racer up with you. Keep up the good work and plan on bringing your machine to Utah next summer for the "Rotors Over the Rockies" event in June.

We give you the up close and personal tour of flying in the Rocky Mountains. No sugar coating or air brushing involved. LOL ! (When Todd takes a "close up", he gets it close.)

That was really some good pictures. That Gyro really can climb.

Mark

I have lived in Colorado Springs since 1973, and have wanted a Gyro since 1974. For many years I was told Gyro's can't fly above 6,000 feet. Our summer density altitude is regularly over 9500ft DA. (6874 field elevation)

In those shots up Ute pass, I estimate the DA was about 11K. I was over 10K MSL for a few miles when we did our turn over Woodland Park Colorado (8600 MSL city elevation, nearby pass ridges over 9,500MSL.)

Considering it weighs 620 lbs empty, and was carrying close to 500 lbs payload, Yeah, it climbs amazingly well.
