Scott, are you saying that anyone who doesn't spend time with erotic images is a wimp somehow?

I've noticed that, in the comedy routines of late night TV, it seems to be a growing assumption that every guy uses his computer primarily for viewing pornography. I personally do not, because I believe there's some validity in the advice that it can adversely affect your relationship with your wife and family, and for some people, become an addiction. In such cases, it stops being funny.

The beauty of the internet is that no matter what you're looking for, you can find more than you can possibly view in a lifetime. And, despite what the TV news magazine shows would have you believe, it is not difficult to avoid porn and still use the web.

And so, there's where I think it becomes an issue. If you post erotic images on a website where people are not expecting it, you cross a line. On the forum, it will be up to Todd and Mike to decide whether it's gone too far. At some point, if it gets raunchy enough, it will cost the forum members. Todd is the guy who has to make that call.

BTW, I don't think any of the current avatars cross that line.

Paul, that's pretty much my take on the matter. I believe one should respect the morals and morés of others. Especially family people. I try to pay the highest respect to the values, wives, daughters and kids of every person on this forum whether I know them or not. It's not a matter of "PC", its a matter of common deciency.

That is not what I meant, what I meant was that now days everybody is offended by someone or something that 20 years ago you wouldn't have thought twice about.

Hell we can't even call our enemy's, enemy's any more, we have to call them agressors, other wise you might offend them. You can't call a black person Black, But most "African Americans" in the ghetto couldn't show you Africa on a map. I could go on.

Even in school it's all about "feelings" I mean they couldn't fail little Johnny, because he might get hurt felings, so instead we will socially promote him to the next grade so he can grow up another dumb a$$ to end up on the evening news.

Ask your kids that are in school about what they learned about WWII, I'd bet money they were not taught about the Japanese bombing Pearl, (don't want to offend) but they teach how bad the USA is for dropping the bomb on our little yellow friends.
They built a place for the muslims to "pray" over here at the airport, But our kids can't pray in school, (might offend)

Buck up little camper, get over it. My point about the porn was that, you can always change the channel if you don't like something, don't sit there and watch the whole thing and then decide that you were "offended"

Nevermind, it aint worth it, besides, everyone ought to know by now Ron always stirs things up, and it works.

I hear ya Scott, we used to call them "Hookers" now we have to call them Private Social worker. I miss the good ole days.

I don't get it....what's the Storm Trooper doing??????????

Posting something controversial seems to be the point. I really like this forum but sometimes it does cross the line. Criminals have rights we don't. Bout the only right we have is build more prisons.

I come to the forum to learn more about flying and the friendship this sport promotes. I CARE.

Just curious if anyone knows what my Avatar is... A few people have pm'ed me wanting to know.

What's really funny is reading this thread from the beginning, now that the avatar changed. Sanford and Son ??? Must be a remake

Mr 10k.

Ron,

Why do you always have to have the most controversial avatar. What happened to the good old days of bevis and butt head lighting farts on fire. :whoo:

I Like the avatar and Ron is right, if someone is offended they are sissys!:hail:
I changed my Avatar, and within a few minutes of the change already got one person to call it Vulgar and make complaints.

Are some of you guys such shut-ins that a fricking person dressed up as a Starwars character doing a dance is offensive? Grow the hell up and open your stinking eyes people.... This is the year 2007, times have changed! This is not the 1800's nor little house on the praire, and if your easily offended then I suggest taking your computer and throwing it away, because the internet is full of offensive stuff.

I am sick of you sissys. I am not here to offend you, but I am also not here to have you tell me you don't like something I said or a picture I posted. Put me on your ignore list if you are so dam sensitive. I am not here for popularity contests and frankly could care less if some of you put me on the ignore list.

Anyway, I will be steamed if Mike or Todd deletes my avatar because someone is " offended " or finds it vulgar. Jeeze people.... Get a life!

I remember not too many years ago when congress and the media was full of discussion about oral sex. I think that exposing children of all ages to that was vulgar. Ron, you don't have the same tastes that I have, but I have not seen you exhibit vulgarity.

well on the other hand, how about if your brother was dancing with your 12 year old at a wedding like that????????????????
