Well, today I finished the building process and all that is left is the hank test and DAR. Hope to test fly in July. Here are some pics of the finished product.I have a set of 25ft sport copters that I will test fly it with. The aircraft without the rotors is 640lbs. It has all digital instriments. MGL makes some cool duel purpose electronic gauges. I have RPM and rotor tack on one and airspeed and altimeter on the other. Then oil pressure, water temp and volt meter. Also in the MGL's are internal hobbs. I also have a set of 27ft dragon wings. May the best performance win!

Thats going to be one awsome machine Larry, great work!

Thank-you all. I am really looking forward to test flying this bird. Any thoughts on rotor blade size? I have a set of sport copter 25ft and dragon wings 27ft. With rotors and fuel and pilot, should weight out at apx 950.

Call Ernie!

And looking good, be looking forward to the pilot reports!!!

I really like your electrical control box on the left side. I like the way it's neat and organized.

Larry, I'd guess the 25' Sport Rotors will be too small. That's what they sell on the Vortex, with an all-up weight of about 750 pounds.

Dennis Dubois of Chapter 73 has a one-of-a-kind scratch-built machine he calls the "Viewmaster," with an empty weight similar to yours, and he runs 27' Sport Rotors. I suspect your Dragon Wings would be a more appropriate size for the JYD.

Hi Larry, I really like your work and those green digital guages look great!

Cheers,
PeeJay.

I have some more pics but these are from the day we unloaded it when he first bought it home from Michigan ??

It is a 2.2 subaru with a Parham redrive.

I gave Larry some of my test cheekplates to do the hang test with. I hope it won't need any more mods to get her flying.
