I was looking at different "UL-Helicopters" from around the world, and I found out that there seems to be a big difference in how much an Ul heli can way in different countries to be classed as an UL-helicopter.

I would be interesting if we could get a list of what rules different countries have

In Sweden it seems that you cant register a heli as an Ultralight no matter the weight...

In the US FAR 103 covers all ultralights - 254 lbs max empty weight.

Zigge,

"Ultralight" in many countries outside the US is a class of aircraft more comparable to the US "Light Sport Aircraft."

Some countries have "Microlights" which are more directly comparable to our "Ultralights."

New Zealand allows single and two seat helicopters with a MTOW of 544kg or less to be registered as microlights. The weight limit effectively eliminates 2 seat machines, and all 6 registered microlight helicopters in the country are single seat.

Greece presently allows 550kg MTOW for all ultralights including helicopters. It will soon be changed to 450kg.
