There is no argument with Chucks statement;

However, it revives and old, and yet unanswered, question that I have had. That being; If a rotor had an extremely large reverse taper where the inner 80% of the radius offered no thrust whatsoever, would the complete streamtube contract or would the inner and outer circular 'walls' of the high velocity airflow close in toward each other????
The answer probably has significance for interleaving and intermeshing configurations.
