Great news he got away unscathed. My heart sank when I saw 'accident'.
Pity about his machine. |
Nice interview here with the pilot Don - he comes across cool calm and collected - well done on bringing it down safely.
http://media.theage.com.au/national/...t-3406232.html Paul - can you confirm the gyro type and if possible the ASRA "G-......" number - thakn you ( can't see G-..... number on the mud covered wreckage ). Thanks Steve |

Lucky! Yep.. A good name.
Weve had a similar ditch in the water here... with trouble undoing harness while sinking. Ive almost convinced myself that unbuckling when extended flying over water may have merit. |

""Can't help Steve, Don's machine was not registered!!!!! Authorities trying to track him down but not returning calls!!!!""
Yikes - thank goodness he didn't harm any other person or property ( potential insurance headache ) - can't imagine this incident brought much of a smile to the faces over at ASRA/ATSB/CASA. |
You get my email via the forum Steve?

Paul - many thanks indeed - I can see a bit of a trend !
Cheers Steve |
I gather it was a newish Cavalon that ditched in the drink over in NZ.
