Some pics from our recent week-long, 2,500km round-trip from Cape Town to the Wild Coast in South Africa.
Three Magni M16's and one Sycamore Eagle. This rural stretch of coastline is situated along the East Coast of SA and offers incredibly scenic flying over unspoilt wilderness areas.

My Magni - what a pleasure to fly!

GREAT photos! Thanks!

The light house photo is my favorite!

The legendary Port St John's runway on the Wild Coast! The runway is situated on top of a mountain and ends literally a few feet away from a vertical drop-off into a canyon. Very exciting to take off over the abyss and then swoop down into the canyon and along the river to the sea!

Cliffhanger!

The most technically challenging short field take-off I've ever had to make! Rough and bumpy and with a side-slope from hell that required every bit of opposite stick and rudder input possible just to keep the take-off roll in a straight line. I was happy to see the back of this "airstrip".

That is an incredibly beautiful place, and what a great way to see it. Very envious.

Great pics. Imagine the wonderful fishing down there!

This is.......gyro flying.
Beautiful.........
I like flying over beaches too.

Reelmule, yes this coastline is renowned for its fishing! Unfortunately we didn't have much of an opportunity to do any fishing (opting to spend our days flying). And here's the best part - there are quite a few fishing lodges and hotels situated along the Wild Coast, which offer clean, basic accommodation (including breakfast, lunch and dinner) starting at around $50 per person per day. Excellent value!
