- About Dan Askew
- Aircraft
- Bensen B-8M
- Biography
- I began my aviation career in the early 1960s as a lineboy at RVS. In the early 1970s I started my flying with a ten hour block of J3 time. I attended Spartan and received my A&P ticket. I decided I couldn't give up the "Bird in the hand" job with the railroad. I took up flying again in the early 80s and purchased a Piper Cherokee in '87. That taught me some very expensive lessons (annuals, AD's, hangar rent, etc.) After years of dreaming, an impulse purchase of a Bensen B-8M put wings (a rotor) on my dreams and me in hot water with my wife.
