  • Although I see Hart is a ways up from here still I would like to send you an open invite to attend one of our meetings, usually we have 6-8 guys show n we talk aircraft, then go for a lunch, which is the wifes favorite part an no cook day....

When the weather is nice the guys will often spend the day flying after the meeting, the Coldwater airport is a very nice gyro friendly one with lots of runway both paved and grass. So were you to fly down there will be someone that give you a ride into town n back for the meal, and 50 cent tour of the area.

Also at the Hastings airport just south of Grand Rapids Jim Fields is opening up a shop building two place Honey bee's, tis a work in progress but he should be up and running soon. So we have lots of good activity in the state, real good thing.....
    Jim Sheldon n Battle Creek.
I bought a RAF 2000 when I retired in 07, spent a lot of time working on it under the guidance of Duane Hunn. Power is Subaru fuel injected 165 HP with a 4 blade warp drive, had her parked in the Mentone hanger that he use to lease, but moved it up to the Coldwater airport this summer where PRA chapter 70 hangs out.

Good no understatement great move for me as Mentone was 125 miles and 2.5 hours each way, and Coldwater is only 29.5 miles from my driveway the the hanger door, I share the hanger rent with several other gyros so the cost is very reasonable.

At present I do not fly but am waiting for Duane my CFI to fly off the time on it so I can take lessons. Another big plus Duane moved moved here too from Mentone!

The Monarch is a nice bird, and I am glad to see there are more rotor heads in the area, we have a club meeting at the airport in the terminal every 3rd Sunday of the month at 13:00(no Dec meeting) so January will be our next one.
